The Story of a Seed
Hi, my name is Chiyun! You can call me Chi, for short.
I’m a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT200) and Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT). Personally, I’m a spiritual being doing my best to navigate the human experience.
Being a queer person of color with neurodivergence, I know why it’s important to establish safety for self and respective communities. I believe all beings have the right to receive support and professional care without discrimination. My hope is to create safe spaces for individuals and for community to gather, to be safe and feel our authentic innate worth. Because when our needs are met, we are supported to live our best lives.
The planet as whole is affected as Gaia ascends into the next dimension. You may have recently or are currently confronted with deep fears and trauma. It is the time for Starseeds to remember how and what it means to be sovereign, how to stay safe physically, energetically, psychically, and how to support humanity through this conscious evolution.
The Chi Tree was planted through intentions to provide sanctuary for self aware people asking for security, nourishment and healing. I invite you to give yourself the support you need and rightfully deserve.
My Yoga Journey
Yoga became a major part of my life after surviving a life threatening illness in 2009. Primarily my muscular body and joints were severly wounded from the inside out. Once I recovered, I started with simple balancing poses with my WiiFit and Balance Board. (Yes really, that’s where my yoga journey began LOL)
Because I came so close to death, both literally and metaphysically, I had to relearn everything. How to walk, how to engage with people, how to feel safe in my body and in the world. So what did I do? I traveled a bit for work and pleasure and stayed in natural places mostly.
In 2013, I completed my first 200hr Teacher Training with the Acadamy of Yoga. Attaining knowledge and experience of hatha yoga with Iyengar yoga influence. This helped me heal my body, cultivate confidence and inspired me to share the magic I experienced through asana, pranayama, meditation...
Throughout my teaching career, I have taught at a variety of yoga studios differing in style preferences (like hot yoga), privately to students, group classes in the community and for distinct groups like beginners, at-risk youth, seniors and people with various disabilities.
In 2022, I completed another 200hr Teacher Training with Om Haven. Attaining knowledge and experience of neurosomatic yoga techniques and Forrest yoga influence. This training compliments my professional experience with phsychiatric care.
From personal experience, I can advocate how helpful yoga has been for me to repattern my posture and thoughts, regulate my nervous system and process trauma being stored in the layers (or Koshas) of my body. I learned more deeply the yamas and niyamas. These yogic perspectives taught me social balance and continue to do so.
